The NDP Hate Alberta Independence? That's A Good Start.

By now, most Albertans have read the famous declaration circulating Alberta’s NDP MLA offices. It says, “I [Insert name here], MLA for [Insert constituency here] affirm that I am a proud Albertan and a proud Canadian. I am opposed to separatism and I will make my position known and clear to my constituents.”

For the NDP, it’s a courageous statement. For the rest of us, it’s nothing more than a self-righteous waste of paper.

There’s never been a need for NDP MLAs to publicize their allegiance to Canada. Everyone already knows they serve the state instead of their constituents. Their commitment to do so — nay, their command — is literally baked like a rock into their party platform.

The proofs of this are not that hard to find. First, from Alberta’s NDP Constitution, section 1.02,

“The [NDP] Party [of Alberta] shall constitute a section of the New Democratic Party of Canada.”

Alberta’s NDP is an arm of the Federal NDP’s body. Members of Alberta’s NDP become de-facto members of Canada’s NDP because the two parties are interconnected mechanisms inside a massive socialist machine.

And note the order of hierarchy. It’s not as though the Federal NDP constitutes a section of Alberta’s NDP. Rather, Alberta’s NDP constitutes a section of the Federal NDP. Ottawa’s NDP does not exist to serve Alberta’s NDP; Alberta’s NDP exists to serve Ottawa’s NDP.

This reality is reinforced by section 1.05 of Alberta’s NDP Constitution, which says that,

“In any matter not dealt with by this Constitution, the Constitution of the New Democratic Party of Canada shall prevail.”

The point here is that Alberta’s NDP is ultimately beholden to Canada’s NDP. Both parties tend to dismiss the association, but the fact that all levels of the NDP are vertically integrated cannot be denied. Every NDP party shares a common goal, and that common goal is codified in the Federal NDP’s Constitution.

It is, therefore, prudent to uncover exactly what the Federal NDP’s Constitution says and what it hopes to achieve. One needn’t read very deep into the document to discover the answer.

The NDP’s goal is socialism. Their vessels for achieving that goal include environmentalism, diversity, multiculturalism, big government, and radical ideology. They want to transform Canada into the monstrous image of Venezuela and Cuba.

That is why the NDP are dead-set against Alberta independence. Their hope is to consolidate Canada into a socialist empire, and Alberta stands in their way. They parade their social-media pages with promises of collectivism and brotherhood, scolding anyone who “threatens” national unity. Thus, they’ve set their sights on a growing group of regular Albertans who are tired of confederation’s asymmetrical arrangement.

The NDP call us traitors even though they serve Canada instead of Alberta. They think that what we’re doing is morally repugnant even though they push progressivism in school and society. They consider our objective evil, which is all the more reason we’re convinced our objective is good.
